Steps by the Programmer to Deploy to Programmers
Note If you are programm ing on the same machine where you created the
component, you can skip the steps described here.
1 Create a p ackage that contains the software necessary to support the
compiled M-code. See “What Software Do es a Programmer Need?” on
page 4-4
Note You can use the Deployment Tool to create a package for
programmers. For Windows platforms, the package created by the
Deployment Tool is a self-extracting executable. Fo r UNIX platforms,
the package created by the Deployment Tool is a zip file that must be
decompressed and installed m anually. See “Using the GUI to Create and
Package a Deployable C omponent” on page 1-6 to get started using the
Deployment Tool.
2 Write instructions for how to u se the package.
a. If y our package was created with the Deployment To ol, Windows
programmers can just run the self-extracting executable created by
the D eployment Tool. UNIX programmers must unzip and install
manually.
b. A ll programmers must set path environm ent variables properly. See
“Directories Required for Development and Testing” on page 9-2.
3 Distribute the package and instructions.
